Welcome back! We're kicking off Season 11 this weekend with a night of EDM, Progressive House and Vocal Trance tunes. Born in the early 90s, progressive house took house music on a melodic journey. Unlike its "acid house" cousin, it traded heavy synths for intricate chords and uplifting vibes. Tracks build slowly, weaving a tapestry of sound that crescendos into a euphoric high. Forget classic choruses and bass drops - progressive house relies on constantly evolving melodies and atmospheric textures to keep you moving. Though initially met with resistance, it found its home in clubs, captivating dancers with its infectious energy and ever-changing soundscapes. Come along this Saturday evening, March 2nd at 6pm SLT (9pm EST) and explore the world of progressive house - it's an experience waiting to be discovered.

KattattaK! Season 11 Episode 0 - Another DJ Katt Mixtape Session

We are warming up for Season 11 with another DJ Katt Mixtape Session this week. This is an unthemed night of music where Katt plays tunes from any era, in any genre, just because she can. One thing can be guaranteed: she won't disappoint with her choice of tunes! Come along early for the preshow, doors open just before 6pm SLT (9pm EST) on Saturday February 17th 2024.

 

East vs West: DJ showdown

 

This coming Saturday, the Kimkattiadome is host to "Tear Down the Walls", featuring DJ West (Sia Aurora), and DJ East (Katt Aurora) as they go head to head in a 2 hour showcase of pop and rock music from two geographic perspectives. DJ West will be playing music from the USA, Canada, Britain, etc. and DJ East will be complementing that with a set of eastern tunes born behind the Berlin Wall (both during and since). Should be a lot of fun :)
